As the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza worsens and political instability dominates global headlines, the escalating crisis in Gaza risks being overlooked. We must not—and cannot—look away.
Gaza is facing an escalating humanitarian emergency. For months, civilians have been subjected to continuous airstrikes, mass displacement, and the tragic loss of family members. What was once a vibrant community is now a zone of destruction. Entire families have been uprooted, often fleeing with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Schools, hospitals, and homes have been reduced to rubble, severely limiting access to education, healthcare, and shelter. The humanitarian toll continues to rise daily. Immediate and sustained international support is essential. We call on the global community to respond with urgency—to provide aid, protection, and hope for the millions affected by this crisis.
This is no longer a conflict — it’s a humanitarian tragedy.
Children with treatable injuries are undergoing amputations without anaesthesia due to a critical shortage of medical supplies. Pregnant women are delivering in unsafe and unsanitary conditions, while doctors are faced with the harrowing task of determining who receives life-saving care.
Approximately 97% of Gaza’s water supply is now unfit for consumption, leading to a surge in waterborne illnesses such as cholera and diarrhoea, particularly affecting children. The destruction of water treatment facilities has left millions of residents without access to safe drinking water.
Children are waking each day to empty plates, their fragile bodies growing weaker with every passing moment. The elderly, already vulnerable, are being forced to endure prolonged hunger. Food is simply unavailable.
As of May 16, an estimated 1.9 million individuals have been forcibly displaced since October 7, 2023, due to ongoing conflict and instability.
Families are now huddled in overcrowded shelters or makeshift camps with little protection from the bombings. These temporary shelters lack sanitation, heating, and basic privacy, and they are no safer than the homes they've left behind.
Families are now huddled in overcrowded shelters or makeshift camps with little protection from the bombings. For the fragile women, children, and orphans affected, every second, minute, and hour that goes by is an unimaginable test of patience and faith. Who are we to let them lose hope?
It started in October 2023. Almost a year has passed. How much have we as an Ummah helped? Can we be proud of what we have given to the cause? Will Allah accept the little we have given from the abundance that Allah has blessed us with?

If you have an outstanding zakat, Allah has guided you here to make up for your owed debt. All proceedings towards the Gaza cause are Zakat-eligible, meaning that not only could you gain the reward of paying Zakat, but also the immense reward of saving human lives.
Saving a single human life is no small accomplishment. Saving one human is equivalent to saving billions upon billions of humans.
"Whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land, it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one, it is as if he had saved mankind entirely."
(Qur'an 5:32)
This makes it easier than ever to earn great rewards for your good deeds. With even the smallest donation, you could save a child from starvation or an elderly woman from the brutal conditions of displacement, lack of shelter, and extreme cold in Gaza.
Would you like the rewards of saving billions upon billions of humans? You just have to save one.

The Palestinians didn’t choose this suffering, just as you didn’t choose your blessings. Calamities are from Allah, and what better way to shield yourself than by giving Sadaqah? For verily:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said,
"Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity."
(Tirmidhi, Hadith 589)
Calamities don’t only arrive in the form of genocides or freak natural disasters. They arrive through family deaths, illnesses, car accidents, sudden financial ruin and much more - All of which could happen to any of us at any time.
We should protect ourselves from the wrath and calamities of Allah by willingly donating to our Muslim brothers and sisters, for we, as an Ummah, are one body.
